Yulia Tymoshenko served as Prime Minister of Ukraine in 2005 for eight months and was elected again as Prime Minister in December 2007.  She is the leader of the party named after herself, the “Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc”.

She earned a Ph.D. in economics and prior to her political career was a successful and controversial businesswoman
in the gas industry, which earned her the nickname,
“the gas princess”. Tymoshenko was one of
the key leaders of the Orange Revolution
and in 2005 was named the third most powerful
woman in the world by Forbes magazine.
